Nice tip I'll be sure to follow it. Did you mark your holes and dry fit it before removing the nozzle for drilling?

I did mark them and hit them with a scratch awl and punch to make it easier to drill. I never did remove the nozzle and drilled it while on the boat. It wasn't too much pressure on it, so I gave it a shot. the material is easier to drill than I thought.

This is a great project. I love watching an amazing transformation to a boat that was abused by the owner/elements come back to life and be appreciated by it's new owner!! Great work! Makes me want to buy one and do the same.

Yep....

It's lookin' good. The Islandia is a big project to take on... but it's SO worth it once it's done.

Updates and more updates

Woot Woot I got the upholstery sent out on Monday but Copycat Upholstery is now Twin Skins, same company but under new management. I used the box from my boat cover to ship the skins. I gotz mad Army packing skills!

Speaking of the boat cover here is a pic of it (finally)

I also completed 75% of my speaker installed. I called it quits for the day since my cordless Dremel ran out of power. It's funny these speakers are the same size in the front but much larger in the back, I need to widen the opening about 1/4". I did the first one by hand before I remember I had a cordless Dremel and a cutting kit. I got the port side done before the battery died. Here are my results so far.
aft starboard (after/before)
aft port (before/after)
bow port (before/after)
The new(ish) speakers are BOSS marine MR650, I got these a few years ago (2010 or 2011) and only installed the head unit, my amp, and sub. I guess I didn't want to widen the speaker holes at the time, I dunno.....

That's it for today, tomorrow is the final speaker and the Cobra Steering fin.
Enjoy your weekend!

Upholstery is being sent to me today so I should be able to cover the seats starting next weekend. Can't wait!

Finally got the seats all covered and back in the boat. Pics to follow soon. I still need to install one speaker and button up the galley and head before I call this project done.

90% complete!

Ok all,
Here are the before and after pictures as promised. Sorry I'm not good about taking pictures as I'm working on things cuz I tend to zone out.
Jumper/ Spotter Seat (that's what I call it)

Captain Seat

Port Bow Seat

Sun Pad/ Aft Seats

Bow Seats

The New Look (Front and Back views)

Overall I'm very pleased with how this turned out. I do wish the grey were a little darker but I'm loving the contrast in colors. I still have a few things to button up (Galley, Head, and 1 speaker) before she is sea worthy again. This has been a pretty good project for my PTSD but I don't think I'll ever do the upholstery myself again.
