:ack: My GTX 4-tec limited supercharged has a good battery and solenoid but only clicks when you try to start. Had previously sounded vety weak at starting and now won't turn over at all. Seems to point to a bad starter but I wonder about the brush rebuild kit? Anybody have any thoughts?

probable cause

Its a coin toss, so don't guess. Take both the battery & starter out and load test each.

Thanks, the battery has been load tested good, which is why I figured the staster. Havn't taken the starter out yet, looks like a pain to remove and was wondering if it can be repaired as opposed to replaced?

You won't know until you get it out and examine. Could be dirt, could be bad wire on
brush. Maybe it was loose & not making a ground.

It's not that fun... If your good working on something without seeing it then you might be able to do it without removing the exhaust. I did it last year and ended up removing the exhaust manifold. I had the same problem, wasn't the starter though. The solenoid clicked so I assumed it was the starter. Turns out though it was, in fact, the solenoid that wasn't working... Made no sense to me either. Hope that helps.
