got a used 03 xp di this week. took it out on the water yesterday for an hour and it was great... 360s, jumps, ran the throttle up etc...

took it out again today and it was great for the first 30 mins.. then it bogged down and cut out.. it continued to do that the rest of the day..

i can start it it up and it runs for a variable amount of time but never more than a few minutes and then it bogs again and cuts out... no RPM that it does this at really... if i try to start it back up immeditaely it starts but immed bogs out and cuts out. if i wait for 30-60 seconds i can start it up and give it a little gas but shortly it will bog out and cut.

I changed both plugs right there on the water but it didnt change anything. seems like the longer i let it sit the longer it will go before it bogs and cuts..

At one point the warning light came on during a few bog downs and read MAINT on the message area.

there is water shooting out the cooling bleed outlet...i assume this is normal..

NOTE: the sliding block assembly is broken and the part is on its way to me next week... not sure if this matters

any ideas as to what to check? there is 90 hours on the craft.

do not exactly know how the fuel pump works on the ski's but assume it is like a car, put your key on and wait untill the fuelpump shuts off then do not start the ski, take the key back off and repeat these about 5-10 times then see if it will start and run for you.

Hey I am too new to this forum to voice much of an opinion, but I also have a DI engine . In many of my searches looking for answers I have read were the di engines are notorious for fuel pump failures. Almost sounds like that could be an issue, and you might want to take a pressure reading at the pump output. Again I am new to all this but I have been doing a lot of homework

Goodluck,
Hank

I am not familiar with this proscess, but in my 2002 gtx sea doo manual There is a lot of info and how tos, and is quite specific on the specifications the fuel pressure should be outputting. If you dont have a manual, I here you can down load a service man... from this site. I happened to find one on ebay and it has helped me tremendously, as well as this site.
