2003 gtx 4tec ecu

I just purchased a 2003 gtx 4-tec155, about 120hrs on it. i put about 10 hrs on it and then it quit, the dreaded 5amp ecu fuse blew. I have sourced a new ecu, but would anybody here be able to tell me what could have blown the fuse. Do they just die or is there maybe something i should be looking at before I plug in a new one. The replacement isnt cheap, and only want to have to buy one.

Jump starting from a running vehicle will kill the ECU and make the 5A fuse blow. Battery chargers, trickle chargers, even loose battery terminals, all bad and sometimes they just fail.

None of those happened...but have heard the just time out. Just wondered if anyone here has been thru this and found a reason for it to blow. Just got schematics and that fuse does start stop swt and everything outta or into ecu.
