hello,

I have a 2003 challenger boat and last week while i was crusing in the harbor and decided to turn off the engine both of them did not start up again. So i had to have the boat towed. i thought it must be a battery problem, as i had not charged up the battery for the previous 2 weeks. Well after connecting the battery to a tender for a fe days. the right engine started right up, but the left wont start up. I hear it cranking and trying to start up but it just wont start up. Any suggestions to things i could try? I have already changes the spark plugs?

Charging a battery may not do any good if it's weak.

But, I would crank it with the plugs out. See if you get any oil out if it.

so i crank it with the plugs out and got no oil but a little fuel vapor. After i do this and then try to start it, it still keeps cranking but cannot get it to start. Any other suggestions? that i could try? can i put a little fuel in the engine block and try to start it that way?

Thanks in advance

Did you check for spark on the engine that won't start? Sometimes you get a bad ground in the black box with the ignition parts.

Follow your spark plug wires from the engine to the black box at the front of the engine that's not starting, remove the cover from the box, you'll see where the ground wire attaches to a small metal plate to the rear of the box. Check for corrosion around the lug, check for a broken lug. I made a jumper (extra wire) and and ran it from an engine bolt back to the original ground after having a ground issue on one engine and the engine wouldn't start. Engine cranked right up after adding the new ground.
