2002 Utopia with the Mercury 240 efi.... Broken cap on small oil tank, need new one..

Hey Guys,

Ok so Ive been looking around and i cant seem to find the small oil tank cap with the oil float sensor anywhere. The cap broke and spills oil out and wont hold the pressure. anyways does anyone know where to but a new one at? I checked seadoo and they dont have it on there part list. Im taking it in to get a tune up ( its been idling around 2500-3000 rpms ) the last few weeks and dont know why. Anyways would love to find one before they get a hold of it so it doesnt cost me an arm and a leg. Any help would be great. Thanks

Seadoo hasn't supported the Mercury engines since 2005. So... the easiest thing to do is... don't even think of your boat being a "Seadoo".


with that said... any Merc dealer can get you a cap. OR... just find one on ebay. That tank is used on all the 2.5L Merc/Mariner outboards, and sportjets, up until 2001-1/2 engine year.

Here's your cap: (#18) New is about $45. I bet you can find one on ebay for less then $10
