2002 Utopia 205 Speed sensor

Hey,

My speedometer works intermittently. Was thinking i would try replacing the speed sensor. Hoping someone might know part# and where to get a new one?

Before replacing it... just test it on the trailer. Grab an air hose... or garden hose... and spry the wheel on the back to get it spinning, and see if the speedo works. If it is intermittent... then check the wires. Chances are... water got into the actual gauge, and it's dying.

I had similar issue, bout the speed sensor, but piggy-backing it and testing as Dr Honda suggests showed the speedo indicator was bad. Not sure what i paid for it, but if you decide to get a wheel, i have one collecting dust. I'm sure we can work something out.

Take Dr Honda's advice before you spend money.

Yea, am interested just in case depending on how much it might be.

Assuming that is not it and is the guage, approx how much to replace and where is a good place to buy one?

Not sure... I never tried to cross the ski parts over to the Merc boats. BUT... since all the gauges were built by VHT back then... there's a good chance it will. BUT... you will have to tell us once you try.
