Took the boat out for the first time this year I totally into lake. Let the boat sit for 15 mins in water while parking the trailer and jumped in a took it for a ride.

Seems fine no issues but we could not get the boat past 15 mph and the rpm’s were up to 4000 rpm. We were confused and we noticed water build up when we opened the engine but not so high but enough where the bilge pump was constantly working when we put it on.

Apparently we have a leak and the weight of the water is causing the boat to run poorly.

So we took the boat out of the water and for at least ten mins the bilge was pumping out water until it was somewhat dry?

I did not see any damage under the hull of the boat and do you think the jet pump access ports would leak that much water in a short time? Are there other areas to check ?

We did not overheat and motor ran fine no codes but a lot of water

I 'm assuming you checked the two black water vent plugs in the stern ?

Test for leaks by disconnecting bilge ( or battery) and filling up the bilge with water hose on dry land ( check for reverse leak) .

Also can check internal engine leaks by running engine using (good) garden hose.
