I have a 2002 GTX that my daughter was riding this weekend and it stopped running while she was idling along. Couldn't get it restarted and eventually ran down the battery.
When I got it home I recharged the battery and it started, however, the exhaust was coming out the engine compartment. I looked it over and noticed that the flanges on the plastic resonator tubes where it hooked up to the exhaust hoses was melted.
Does anyone know how this happened and what I need to do to fix it and prevent it from happening again?
thanks,
Charles

go thru your coolinfg system. Inspect the pump area, use compressed air..etc. Think theres a blockage somewhere.

I actually just had my hose and resonator melt. I was told by the shop that high temp hose was not used and that's why it melted. I only had the ski three weeks and was told he replaced all the hoses. I guess he didn't use high temp hose for the exhaust. If you have the original hoses maybe it just finally gave out?
