I have a 2002 GTX RFI and it’s taking on water. There appears to be a “opening” to the left of the jet propulsion unit in the back. It’s like a plug/cover came off this spot, but I can’t find this on the manual. There is not a similar spot on the right side. Anyone know what this spot/hole/opening is and how to plug it?

If it is the threaded tube on the right at the top or your circled area that is the discharge line and must remain open. There is a little fitting on the bottom on some of these skis. At one point I connected a hose on the inside of the ski to that lower fitting and filled it with RTV so it couldn't leak. I don't like water in the hull. LOL Good Luck !

Etemplet- thanks for your response. It’s the part that is circled and directly to the right of the reverse gate. Is this what you were referring to that has to stay open? It lets water into the hull. Seems like it should be plugged. I don’t know much about these. Just that they are fun. Lol.

The newer ones used plastic baffles to decrease sound so if the exhaust is starved for water and the exhaust overheats it can melt these baffles and leak water into the hull.

I noticed on some of the skis there is a HOSE that connects to this part at the back of the ski. I'd check that fitting. It's gonna be painful getting back there. Ouch !! Good Luck.

Thanks. Someone else told me when I called a shop. Not sure how I’ll get my hand back there. Lol. Appreciate you getting back to me.
