2002 Gas tank leak?

My first problem was solved, thanks everyone!

Now on to a new one. When I'm gassing up my XP after about three gallons it starts to pour out into the lower unit and then the bilge kicks it out. Do I have a crack in the gas tank or is there a hose that may have come disconnected from the tank. I have the repair manual, and I see no line or hose that could have fallen off.

If I have to replace the tank, is that a huge project? I could not see how to get it out without pulling the motor.

the tank is one-piece. with all the hoses going in the top. except for the fill hose, which also goes in the top, but in a different spot. that is your only possibility. check where it connects to the tank. the oil tanks fail too frequently. i have never heard of a gas tank failing. but obviously there is gonna be a first time sometime. it might come out the front hatch. if not, removing the motor isn't such a much.
