Hello everyone. New hear. Really great reading. A lot of good info.

I hate to beat a dead horse, and I do a search but it left me still confused.

Question on 2 stroke oil (sorry). I seem to reading conflicting info on the correct oil to use. I have had 2 strokes in many forms, dirt bike, Jet skiis never before have I given so much though to the oil. Why the difference in oil?

This if from the Mercury site.

Model 200 Hp Mercury or Quicksilver Optimax/DFI 2-Cycle engine oil is recommended for your engine. If Optimax/DFI 2-Cycle engine oil is not available, we recommend using Mercury or Quicksilver TC-W3 Premium Plus 2-Cycle Oil. Severe engine damage may result from use of an inferior oil. Model 240 Hp Mercury or Quicksilver Premium TC-W3 2-cycle oil is recommended for your engine. For added protection and lubrication, Mercury or Quicksilver Premium Plus TC-W3 2-cycle oil is recommended. If Mercury or Quicksilver outboard oil is not available, substitute another brand of 2-cycle outboard oil that is NMMA Certified TC-W3. Severe engine damage may result from use of an inferior oil.
