I own a 2001 Seadoo RX that has always given me issues. I parked it 3 years ago discouraged and recently went through the jet ski and replaced all of the old gray fuel lines. I also rebuilt the carberators. The jetski now seems to start and idle fine but it hesitates when you first start out and doesn't seem to have the top speed it once had. At mid speed it runs smooth, it also is sucking down the fuel twice as fast as it originally did. My jet ski knowledge is very limited but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you rebuild the carbs with Genuine Mikuni kits? Did you replace the needles and seats with Genuine Mikuni?

Assuming all other things are OK...these skis are really very simple machines......feed them battery power, fuel and oil and away they go. The "key" is feeding them the fuel properly......as Miky asked......did you do the carbs properly with Mikuni parts? Follow the Carb rebuild sticky post (like gospel).....the more I read and the more I play with my ski...the more is keeps coming back down to the carbs.....they can be the source of endless frustration until you get them dialed in properly....THEN it is happy time. Patience, follow the details, you'll get there....good luck!

Thanks, Ive been messing with the carbs and things are getting better each time out.

There’s no “messing “ with the carbs. A stock ski will run perfectly with the stock settings. You have something wrong and if you keep running it you will damage the engine.
