I purchased 2 used Ski's to give to my Dad for all of the great things he's done for my family. One appears to be having issues.
Ski starts on land and appears to run fine.
Both times it's been in the water it fires up, accelerates normally and runs at full speed. After about 40 minutes it will begin to idle rough and die.
When I try to restart it may or may not. When it does, it takes some time and only grudgingly fires up again. On one occassion I couldn't start and had to tow it back (after pinching the inlet hose).
I have noticed oil in the bilge that appears to be oil/gas mixed.
UPDATE: After reading a number of the threads I decided to conduct a compression test. The stern cylinder reads 150 and the forward cylinder reads 50. If anyone has an idea on how to best proceed and if this could cause this type of problem I would appreciate it. Mike O.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
