2001 GTX carb will not rpm. Maxes out at 5700

Yes, you were told bad information.

You want the o-ringed pipe, with the o-ring, it is much better and why seadoo switched to that design.
 
Trust me,,,the neoprene "O" ring works perfectly,,and is a huge time saver, ,no scraping of stuck gasket material,,,and do not apply silicone,,,as per manual.
 
Thank you for the input. I am just annoyed that I was told by someone who is supposed to know their stuff about these 951 SeaDoo’s would tell me to use a gasket on an oring manifold. The bright side is the rest of the work they did was great.

UPDATE!! It’s fixed! Well I obtained a new exhaust manifold for an earlier gasket style. I had purchased a used one for an o ring and I found it was cracked. I retested the exhaust system with air pressure and the leak was gone. I took it out and saw 6800 to 6900 rpm and the bog/hesitation I had at the 4000 rpm range is gone. Runs great. Ty for all the input. Hopefully this helps someone at some point. Excess water in the tuned pipe causes all sorts of issues.
