Getting ready to do the full carb rebuild on my RX as it has become nearly undriveable; bogs down when I hit the throttle. Runs like a raped-ape at full throttle. I'd replaced the selector switch and all the hoses years ago, even went to the trouble to take off the intake manifold and replace the little fuel filters, etc...but that was as far as I went then, as I was basically just doing preventive maintenance...the machine ran fine after that, has just gradually gotten this way. I am trying to determine what could have caused this sudden issue?

The accelerator pump is probably not squirting fuel. They plug up with varnish from old fuel.
It will be part of your carb rebuild so do it once.

Thanks for the reply, I was kind of wondering this as it has also become quite hard to start when cold.

Okay, I just got done testing the pump per the factory manual, it holds pressure and vacuum and when I hooked a fuel line with gas up to it, it squirted copiously. So...I guess I can check that off the possible list. Now doing the carb rebuilds...
Question: I had put an additional in-line fuel filter on the machine just for giggles...could that in ANY way be part of the problem?

Another question...can this fuel line be substituted for part #79, which appears to be NLA?

Do not install additional fuel filters on these.
Yes, you can use the tygon hose but make sure your old ones don't have a restrictor orifice and if it does be sure to reuse it.
