ok as the title says I have a 2000 GTX RFI by the looks of what I can see so far the seals all went to hell in a hand basket and water got in to places in the motor it shouldn't of been ie the magneto also I was told when it gets warm it doesn't wanna start ( this isn't my ski) so I was thinking maybe when it gets hot it looses compression?

really my question is weather or not to take the motor out and how hard is that to do?

Hell and a hand basket?

We have both! :)

I'd say you should be slightly more specific as to which seals need replaced. Are we ONLY referring to the water in the Doo? That could be just one seal, or one coolant line. Just a bit more info would help.

well my cousin took it to a shop and they gave her a big long list of all kinds of O-rings and gaskets and a few hard parts that they say need to be replaced but I trust that shop about as far as I can spit

I took the pick up off the top of the magneto and looked inside and it looks pretty rusty in there also today I got the power valves put back together and back on the engine and checked the compression 115psi in the front or mag cylinder and 100psi in the rear or PTO cylinder seems good to me so I dont think it needs a new set of pistons and or rings yet

I tried to start it today and the starter doesn't seem to want to engage all the time you hit the button and it starts to go then just stops any idea what that could be?

I'm kinda new to working on jet skis, dirt bikes and cars are more my forte

I'll find the list and put up some part numbers and there names
