Hey guys, was fogging my machine after a short ride today and noticed i can move my motor side to side (as in port to starboard)
I noticed the most play on the back port side mount by the coupler cover. I tightened up the bolt snug (it was out a few threads) and still have a fair amount of play. Seems to be snug anyways, dont want to spin the threads out of it. Could it be bad mounts, or something else? Also had trouble locating the other mounts

Well, you have diagnosed it already, the mounts will separate, perhaps someone on here has a repair for them, the 3rd mount is at the front. And do yourself a favour, and replace/repair all 3 of them.

I've run into loose mounts a few times. I grab the engines and shake them. Any movement and I go deeper. The issue now is... the engine needs to be aligned.

Ok so my motor mounts are worn out?

I have aligned my mercruiser outdrive before, pretty straight forward. Is there a procedure on here for sea doo?

Yeah the procedure is to buy the alignment tool for $190. If you return it they will refund you $75 of that but it'll probably cost you half of that to send it back depending where you live.

Ok guys thanks for the insight. Probably done for the season then at this point. Will post back when i begin disassembly

I bought an alignment too used and found one locally believe it or not. I Needed it though because I restore skis.

Nice. Well 190 isnt terrible, i have quite a few specialty tools for various other toys so one more is a drop in the bucket.

So are the mounts fairly accessible? What all needs to be removed to do this? And are shims included with the new mounts or sold seperate?

If it was lined up properly you shouldn't have to add shims but from my experience few engines are lined up properly. I'd do one mount at a time and put the same shims back in place. Leave the other mounts tight or loosen them only slightly. Tighten that mount to the hull fully then move on to the next one. After you have done all 3 then check your alignment. I think you can get to the mounts well enough. I'd pull the airbox at least.

Guys, I am not convinved my mounts are worn out. Finally spent a minute to look at the machine (thought I was done for the season so I focused on motorcycling for a little bit) Anyways here is the rundown:

I removed the Port mount (the obvious loose one) and it appeared to look fine (as in no obvious damage, degradation, pancaking etc). For reference I removed the Starboard mount and compared the two. The rubber pucks both measure 29 mm but lo and behold the center bolt on the port side measures 20 mm and the center bolt on the starboard side measures only 16 mm. Which tells me the Port side bolt is bottoming out before it gets tight but why do I have mismatch bolts?

So In the meantime I am going to find a shorter bolt and tie everything back together but I would still appreciate your guys' thoughts. Obviously I don't want to throw money at three new mounts when two seem fine and the one in question measures out the same as the one beside it. Not to mention the $190 alignment tool....
