Got a chance to start it this morning on the hose after cleaning the plugs. Fired right up but smoked a bunch. had Fuel pressure gauge connected the entire time. 30 PSI no matter what when it was running. So question is where to start to diagnose the low pressure?

Also there is a bunch of play in the steering thing in the dash. Is it adjustable or do I have to replace it?

Thanks

As far as I know... the steering box isn't adjustable as far as "Slop". But, since a boat steering isn't very precise... I wouldn't worry about it.

OK... so the pressure is on the low side. I would still go out for a ride, and keep an eye on the gauge. If/when it stalls... then see what the pressure is.

If it's just low... I would look for leaks, clean the filter in the vapor tank... and clean the regulator. If it falls off to nothing... then I would replace the pump.
