200 XP continued to run after plug pulled and rolled

The other weekend I posted a thread ( What to do after I rolled my XP ), but when it rolled the key/lanyard was disconnected and it continued to run.


The start stop button had to be engaged to stop the engine.


Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happing in the future?

You might wanna just replace the DESS post and lanyard to be safe.

Sometimes if the seadoo runs hot it will keep running after all ignition is stopped. It is like a RC car that runs a glow plug. I have heard of this happening only a couple times. What is happening is that the plug is so hot it is firing the fuel in the engine with out any spark. It is rear, but it can happen. The easiest cure is to choke the engine...it will stop. I would test your lanyard to be sure it is working ok. They get expensive to replace and have it reprogrammed again.
