Not too sure on what would be the easiest to find two stroke oil for my Seadoo?

What is everyone else using as far as2 stroke oil goes right now?

THANKS

api-tc rated, must be synthetic if you have a 787/800 or 951 powered craft.

yes, not the tcw-3 stuff you usually find.

as far as "easiest to find"

not sure if there is a walmart near you, but quicksilver has the right product there, api rated synthetic.

looks like this

your local seadoo dealer or service shop will have seadoo XPS oil.

and if you dont' like to drive (I don't)

amsoil interceptor, available at amsoil.com join as a trial preferred member, order a case and be done with it.

Mystik JT4 will also work. A lot of oils that are rated for 2 stroke snow mobiles will also work. Since you are up north in canada, maybe try that route...eh.

If I'm running mineral oil, what oil can I use to transition to synthetic when this tank runs low?

I'd like to do this without draining what I have and doing a full switch.

Usually the same brand oils can be mixed with no problems. For instance if you are using BRP XPS mineral or synthetic blend to XPS2 full synthetic with no problems. Same for Quicksilver and Amsoil just make sure it's API-TC rated. I don't know what engines your SPX has, SeaDoo used both a 717 and a 787 in that model. If you have a 717 you don't need full synthetic.

What oil are you using now?

7-Eleven/Citgo brand 2 stroke oil says it meets API-TC and JASO-FB specifications. Has anyone tried used this?

I got a premium (or whatever it's called) membership with Amsoil last year, and bought four jugs of Interceptor (premium) oil that I'm feeding my baby. Came out (shipped to my door) to less than what it would cost to buy from the dealer their bombardier oil.

ya i got the same membership, i've ordered 4 cases :) its a pretty good deal, i share the costs with a friend, works out for both of us, and in the past 8 months or so i haven't had to mess with running up to the store to get oil the night before a ride.

oh yeah!

it is synthetic. I forgot.

My first time I was trying to run it all the way down, so I took the jugs with us on our outing haha, kept checking every 15mins or so till I dunked both jugs in...or however much fit.

Does anybody know if this stuff would work?

I forgot if I checked the backside to see if it held the API code or not.

The kind of stuff you'd find at Canadian Tire (CT), or Walmart here in Canada. Stuff goes on sale from time and again.

[edit], so as Spimothy Leary is saying, this TCW (bottom right corner indicated) wouldn't jive.

5th line down, mid sentence., says API rated...so this would work!?

LOL...of course... Spimothy Leary...correct me I'm wrong...but our Interceptor turned out to be like $23/Gallon jugs? INCLUDING the 6month or 12month membership right?

Puts the price in Perspective...HARD.

The Shell Advance is O.K., I think the Castrol is TCW-3 outboard oil so no on the Castrol. Castrol makes the SeaDoo oil so I wouldn't think they would make on oil to compete with the XPS-2.

The exact same oil (same code number on bottle) is starting to pop up in Walmart stores in the same silver packaging that the other QuickSilver oils use. If you see this oil at your local Walmart in a silvery grayish bottle, and it says both "PWC" and "FULL SYNTHETIC" on it, it's the exact same oil as the black bottle contains. Note that the full synthetic and the partially synthetic can look very similar and both say PWC on them. So you do have to look closely.

If the price is around $28 per gallon, it's not the full synthetic. The full synthetic is around $39 per gallon. You can use the cheaper, partially synthetic version, on SeaDoo's without power valves. Just make sure it says PWC on it. (And you should clean everything out if you switch from a fully-synthetic oil to a partially-synthetic one.)

I have the 787 in he bike and I'm using the original Bombardier Rotax injection oil from 1997 (been told it's mineral).

Thanks

Over the years I have used:
Amsoil Interceptor
SD XPS II synthetic
Yamalube 2W
Mystik JT4 synthetic

I currently have 2 new SBT remans in this Challenger 1800 jet boat. I ran Yamalube 2W for the break in and now have approx 7 hours on the engines. I`m just about out of the 2w, and will then run the Mystik JT4 I have on the shelf.
Also on the shelf are XPS Blend, XPS synthetic.

I choose to run the colored oils bc I premix this boat @ 40:1, and it is easy to see the fuel level and color of the fuel, even tho I am the only one that mixes the fuel in 5 gallon jugs and top off the tank...

Amsoil Interceptor can be directly ordered thru Amsoil or a sponsor. They also have a preferred membership avail, and you can then by at lower prices than what`s listed on their web site.

Mystik Lubricants can be ordered here: http://www.mystiklubricants.com/do/category/SMALL_ENGINE

Hope this helps!
