2 cycle oil

I have 2- 1995 seadoo bombardier gtx i think i read some where they have a 657 motor? and the previous owners always ran the bombardier brand of 2 cycle oil, I have no local dealers of pwc's and dont know where to get it at. now Walmart has 2 different types of 2 cycle oil for pwc they have a synthetic, and a regular. whats the difference in them. and will they work for my jet skis? Thanks in advance

A lot of members use different oils and have had no problems. Here are the specs of oil and fuel as recomemded;

Recommended oil and fuel use.

Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.

i been using Pennzoil marine 2 stroke fully synthetic. i have a 96 gsx with over 200 hours (second owner) and the previous owner always used it due to no local seadoo dealers in our area and had no problems with the oil. all cylinders showed no scoring and doesnt smoke much or smells bad, just dont use the cheap walmart oil supertech, and dont use outboard oil!!

Quicksilver

I've been using quicksilver from walmart in my 96 xp and it does the trick i have noticed that when i pull the plugs they look beautiful i tried some penzoil when i first got the ski and although it was cheap and synthetic it really seemed to get kinda gloopy in the lines so i found the quicksilver brand and i've been using it ever since it's a little bit more but it seems the make the ski run a little better.

Different people different bands - For me i perfer Quicksilver Full Synthetic.
