Well, the search is over, here is the 99 SPX I went and looked the other day. I didn't want another fixer upper (cosmetically) so when he told me that it only had 64 hours on it I had to go look. It did not disappoint, it looks 64 hr or less. This is going to be my ski and only mine, no kids no buddys just my butt on the hump seat.

Started right up, comp is 155 in both, sounded good. I will be doing the usually stuff, grey lines, jet pump oil, carbs etc.

Here is a few pics. Crap, typo-ed the wrong year in the title.

Updated the title. Be sure to get some HT for that thing. two tone black and yellow would look great. You can grab it at PWCMuscle.com coupon code HYDRO15

Thanks Greg for doing that, not sure about the turf yet, I'm thinking to keep it all original. Unless the rubber starts to buckle up like most of them do.

Really nice ski, great find. Does yo Mama's knows how late y'all stay up?

Lou

Thanks Lou
As for as mama she was up with me, we were having issues with the camera trying to get the pictures to convert....

That is super super clean Kick, nice pick on that one. Don't blame you one bit for not letting anyone sit on that one.

Awesome ski! I've been looking for one for two years (In any condition, honestly), but haven't found one yet. It's by far my favorite looking ski, I like it more than my XP800, and I wouldn't trade that for anything! You'll have to let us know how she runs once it's warm enough to take it out!

Never came with one, grip it and rip it, who cares about a speedo. I could see if it was dead nuts accurate but you know how well these read.

agreed she has all you need fuel and trim although a tac is nice and they leave some room between for a tto or a tiny tac

They are a bit tough to find, I don't think it is a rare ski, people are just hanging onto them. There would be alot less of these made then a 96XP, but not as rare as a 787x.

No speedo, no tach, but a gas gauge which you only need to look at once every day, oh well. I was actually surprised to find the old style front ebox, I figures it would be the same as the 97's. I guess they stuck with the old technology in the X4's and the GS's got the new stuff.

All I can say is WOW!!! I am a LITTLE JEALOUS!!! You don't even need to clean it! Subscribed!!!!

LOL, keep telling yourself that. I was out on Sunday for probably 5 hours of non stop riding and was bouncing off 1 and no bars on the multi-function gauge.

Thanks Sabre.

I agree, a tach really is a true indicator for many things. If your 200 rpm short there is always a reason. Not sure I would get obsesses over it, but there is reason.

First off, awesome find. Did you see it on craigslist?

Second, (and somewhat off topic) what should a good stock engine turn with stock prop (787 X4) about 6600-6900 or so?

ya Craiglist Buffalo, which was nice, only 30 min away. I was on the phone with the guy within 1 hr of it being posted.

Honestly I have not run an X4 800 yet on the water, just picked up 2 this winter, so I cant say what the rpms should be, but I would imagine the same as the other 800's I have which is around 6800 at WOT

Those gauges look brand new!!!! As does the ski! This thing hasn't seen much sun. I get more jealous every time I look at the pictures

Stop looking at it!! It will just burn your eyes and give you unrealistic expectations of what a 99 should look like....
