I installed a new driveshaft and PTO...I removed the back crankcase housing to try and lock the crank to remove the PTO..then found the trick with the rope in the cylinders..put all back together and engine started fine...put the boat in the water and the engine just turns...checked for spark and there is none...could I have touched a wire in eroor or something at the flywheel?

In removing the PTO and shaft, you would not normally been near your electrical system.

Check the front, where your magneto is. The wiring for your ignition is in and around the front. Maybe, during the work on your PTO, you managed to disturb one of your connectors. But, you should not have done anything from the back. Do you get the two beeps when you connect your DESS lanyard?

Ya I checked all the wiring in the front and it looks ok...just wondering if there is anything behind the rear fylwheel case I may have moved?
