1999 SeaDoo GTX Limited Oil/Carb Problem

I recently bought a 1999 SeaDoo GTX Limited from a buddy. I threw in a new battery, new wear ring, changed the pump oil and it ran very well. I was out riding around until all the sudden my jetski felt like it didn’t have any power. It started puttering and eventually it wouldn’t idle and ran very poorly. I come to find out that I put the wrong oil in. I put TW-3 in which I later found out was a big no no. So I syphoned out as much as I could and put the correct injection oil in. I thought that if I ran what’s left of the TW-3 through it would get to the new oil and work itself out. A couple hours of riding later, it’s running better but I can’t get the speed and rpms up to where they were previously (43 mph vs. 60 mph and 5500 rpms vs. 7000 rpms. So I’m thinking my next move would be to pull the carb and clean it or adjust it, I’m not really sure. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I am a first time watercraft owner, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would check these things before removing carbs because they are easier to do and may solve the issue.

1. Pull you rave valves and see if they are dirty/sticking. The valves help with a smooth transfer to the higher RPM band, they may be sticking and not allowing for that transfer as easily. Plus its and easy thing to look at and clean.

2. I would also check your spark plugs and see if they are fouled. Maybe add some defogger to the cylinders turn it over a couple times and flush it a little. Not sure how long you ran your ski with that oil, it wont do too much damage in a short time span but may clog things up some...IMO

3. Put a multimeter on your battery and crank it , let idle, as best you can, see the voltage, it should be in the 12V range, not lower than 12V. Then rev it up to 4500 rpm and make sure your voltage goes into the 13V range, ideally around 13.5ish, but not over low 14V. Lower than 12v or higher than say 14.2 ish, you got issues . Not having enough voltage or over voltage can cause running issues especially at higher speeds. Don't run the engine any longer than you have to for this test since you are not cooling the engine.

If you take off your carbs I would also clean out the oil lines for you oil system . Make sure all the wrong oil is out of them and didn't clog anything up when you mixed the oils.

I also will warn you, don't jump the ski with a power pack or your car, it can fry the electronics.
