That's correct if you had a 4 stroke. You need gear oil, go with synthetic you can get at any auto parts store. 75w90.

I'm just finishing putting my engine together. It's an rfi case on a carb engine. Do I need to plug those 2 holes on the bottom oil pan looking thing?

No but you can if you want, that's just for water in/out. The rfi runs hot so seadoo runs water through the plate to help cool the engine.

Finally got the motor installed. Tomorrow, I see if it will run. Forgot to get some premix oil for break in.
Does anyone know what the stock setting for the rave valves are? They seem to be turned in pretty far. About 1/4 inch past the lip of the cover.

The motor runs. It seems to be idling a little low. 2250rpm on land. I thought it was supposed to be around 300 or of water. I took a video of what it sounds like. I have an untrained ear so could someone please tell me if it sounds right? Also, should I be getting the mpem timing checked with this new motor?

And should it smoke that much? I know it will a bit because I'm running 50:1 premix for break in

These are the spark plugs after about 1.5hr run time. First 2 are from new motor. Does the color look about right? 1 thing that concerns me a bit is that it looks like a little bit of water on the second one. There was a little bit of water on the spark plug holes so I'm hoping it was just from that. I used all new gaskets on the cylinder head and torqued bots correctly.
