I am new to the boat scene. I'm looking at the a fan for the bilge/ engine area. Am I supposed to have 2 fans or just one? I am seeing that one hooks to the vent. What about the other vent? If you have a legit picture, that would be awesome. I really appreciate if you can help. I have NO seadoo dealers near me. I tested and found fan jammed and blowing fuse. Can I use a different bilge fan ie: attwood, seachoice?

I have a 99 speedster SK and yes it only has the single fan setup. The other side has just a hole. It allows the engine bay to always vent. The problem with the hole is is also allows a lot of noise out of the engine compartment "even at an idle". Makes it hard to talk and listen to others boaters.

I came up with this idea and it helped with that problem and gave the hole better purpose.

Let me know what you think

Just look up a bilge blower. I believe it's a 3" blower in the speedster. It is a pain to get to though as they riveted mine in.

Before you complain(too late).................The only thing you leave the engine over on to do is to change the spark plugs, spray fogging oil in the air boxes, grease the PTO's, and add oil to the oil tank. ANYTHING................and I mean ANYTHING other than that you should remove the engine cover. So much easier to work in there. For me it's only a 1 man job to remove the engine cover and about 20ish minutes.

Really, I'm not kidding

I have done it before when I first bought it. I believe it will make it easier. Looks like I may have some fun this weekend. Supposed to spike to 65

my question before doing this is... the angle looks very difficult for re-installing the rivet. how is the metal bracket attached? just trying to figure this out. is it possible to rivet onto removed metal bracket?

looked it over and i just finished a lot sooner than planned. the rivets for the engine cover struts are holding the bilge blower bracket. The top and bottom 2 rivets need drilled out with 3/16 bit. the fan and bracket will fall. then drill the blower rivets from bracket. that is how its done!!! im happy i fully looked over it. now i get to tear the wear rings out!
