1998 gtx limited - Won't turn over

Was running great. I put it on the lift, flushed it out went out the next morning and when I put the key on the dash didn't light up but whin I pushed the start button the dash would light up. I charged the battery, cleaned the battery termanals and it acted the same. I tried to check the ground at the engine but it is attached under the engine out of reach and sight. I ran a ground wire from the battery to the engine. Nothing changed Any Ideas? Thanks, John

How old is the battery? I would check the battery to be sure it doesn't have a bad cell in it. If you take it to auto zone, they will check it for free. If the battery is bad it will act like you saying.

Beeps? ...fuses?

Did you get any beeps? ........have you checked for blown fuses? When you push the start button, it should power the gages for 33 seconds, then shut back down.

Like Karl says, a bad battery will have these symptoms......and when you put the lanyard on, the beeps will be weak.

Was there any response when you hit the start/stop button?
