1998 GSX LTD dies in water

I have a 1998 GSX limited. I recently changed the fuel line since it was giving out those gunks clogging up my filter etc. After taking the exhuast pipes out so I can fix the fuel lines, I replaced everything in its usual order. The jetski now starts on land without problem. As soon as I would drop in into the water, it just dies. And when I pull it back out, it starts again without problem. It would also stays running out of the water for as long as I would allow it out of the water without problem. I only thing I now notices is there is some small amount exhaust smokes coming out of where the two exhuast pipe comes together with the screw clamps. I have tighten these two points again really tight but the smokes are still there in and out of the water.

When you reinstalled the pipe, did you remove the copper ring, clean it and reapply sealant prior to putting it back together?

sounds like an obstruction in the exhaust.or a coolant leak inside the manifold.

No, it's got to be where he joined the two halves back together incorrectly.
