Hi everyone!

I bought my challenger about 4 months ago. When I put the lanyard on I don't get any beeps and no power to gauges. If I hit the start five times I get one short and one long beep. The boat quit on me last time I was out like the lanyard was pulled, after a few on offs with the lanyard it restarted and I got it back to the dock. I love this boat and want to get it back in water soon.....any ideas? Could it be a bad dess post? I don't want to drop 100 on one and that isn't the issue? The timer works fine when I hit the start...after 30 some seconds power comes off the gauges.

BTW this is my first boat so I am slowly learning!

Everything you need to know for testing the DESS post function in your boat is located in section 8 of the 1998-99 Challenger Shop supplemental manual and you'll need a multimeter to conduct and record the results of the resistance tests.

Check the bottom right hand on page 08-06-21 for those ohm values.
