I’m relatively new to the jet ski game and bought a non-running 1997 Seadoo XP. During the process of trying to get it running I flooded the engine with water trying to start it on the hose. I believe the engine is now hydro locked because it won’t turn over with the spark plugs in. When I take the plugs out the cylinder towards the bow shoots out a milky white substance (I’m assuming due to the water) and the cylinder towards the stern shoots out straight oil, which I believe means bad cranks seals. From what I’ve read is most people say the keep turning it over without the plugs to pump out the water and oil. I have pumped out a lot of water but still won’t turn over with plugs in (it will occasionally turn over but will lock right back up again). We tested the individual cylinders and initially it would turn over if the water cylinder plug was in but the oil cylinder plug was out. Now it has changed to the opposite of that. Any ideas where I should go from here? Any thoughts are welcome

You should be able to clear the water by cranking it with the plugs out. The oil is most likely bad crank seals and that will effect both cylinders. Keep trying and don’t over crank the starter. Let it test between cranking. Then see if it fires. Have you checked comprehension? Might be a good idea. If compression is low and crank seals leak then your looking at a full rebuild.

It still has compression. The cylinder with water is 150 and the cylinder with oil is 180. I suspect those numbers are high because of the extra fluids

For reference I have had this happen many times on my XPDIs machines. Bought them with water in the engines, got them running and all has been good for 3 yrs going strong. Compression is 110 and 125, everyone on here will tell you that’s bad. My machines start and run like new still. 58mph on Gps.
I pulled the plugs and cranked them over just like you mentioned, residual water (after you empty 90% by cranking over and over)will keep coming to the top of the piston and wetting the plug preventing it to start.Sometimes some gas down the cyclinder or another set of plugs will help get it fired. Once it’s fired it will clear itself out nice and dry and relubricate with your 2stroke premix oil. Trick is to get it fired. It may take a couple hrs. Do this with the hose off then when it fires run over and turn the hose on to cool the cylinders. You would be surprised on how easy this happens. Just had it happen last week. 3 kids at home, wife needed help with putting baby in the car. Had the machine running on the hose. Turned it off with hose running. 20min later oh sht I forgot. Cylinders full.
