Hey guys i just picked up a seadoo xp its the one with the shock in the back of the seat.
Any ways my father winterized the ski for our neighbor 2 years prior to me buying it. It ran great when parked. So it sat for two years outside with a cover on it. Some wher along the line the womens boyfriend removed the starter and lost it.
So she decided to just sell it. So i picked up up. Ordered the starter put it in. It was a little sized up but it broke free pretty fast. Throttle cable was smooth from the start. Steering is a little siezed.
The major problem im having now is i have no spark. when i put my key on it doesnt beep but my guages do light up but when i hit the start button they spaz out almost as if i have a bad ground. So i check my grounds and low and behold the negitive and positive terminal was deteriorated off pretty much. So thats fixed now but i still have no spark. I have no power going to the coil and it also appears i my solenoid is bad or that could be because of the lack of power.
After doing a little research a few people sold me to take the stator cover off and that there is a needle inside that gets rusted and will prevent spark. So i got all the bolts out and i currently gave up on it for tonight because i am having a hell of a time removing the cover... I almost want to remove the engine to do this.
Any inputs are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
