Need help !!..1997 seadoo xp 787 is not getting fuel..I put new rings , valves and all new gaskets on it..turn the engine over and it will not start..However when I take out the spark plugs and dump fuel into the cylinders it starts right up and runs until fuel in cylinders are burnt out..could this be the fuel pump ? If so...would I be able to put an ohm meter on the pump to see how much its pushing if at all..and how many ohms should the pump be pushing ?Thanks for all your help ...

I may be wrong on this, but I have a 96 GTX with the same motor and it has a vacuum fuel pump. Its on the Mag side carb. There is a pulse line that runs from the engine block to the pump that could be bad or your diaphram could have a hole in it. If you have the grey fuel lines you need to clean the carbs/filters and replace the hoses. You should also check the water filter at the front of the ski make sure its sealing. If you haven't tried this yet you should put it on reserve and see if it changes anything your selector valve could be plugged.

Hope this helps good luck

He's correct on the pump! Double check the pulse line! It comes from the bottom of the motor to the Mag carb! It's very short hose!

Good news...Took a couple hoses off and blew through the lines and reconnected them and it fires right up ...Runs great sittin on the trailer...Cant wait to get it on the water to see how it runs then...Got alot of work and time into it..Thanks to everybody for the great information on here..This forum rocks..Thanks again all
