Hi everyone I recently had posted about my engine not turning over and after about a week breaking my head and going through all the possibilities it ended up being a bad ground wire. A couple of you guys gave me good input and helped on finding the issue hopefully you guys can once again help out again. So today I went to try the jet ski out and it started up Great and ran fine on idle (1500 rpms) but as soon as I got out the no wake zone I went to rev it up and it felt like it was stuck so I started double tapping the throttle and it kinda went up more to 4500 to 5000 rpms and then quickly go back down to 1000 rpms . It felt like it was about to turn off unless I would release the throttle and let it settle back to idle. Any suggestions on what can be causing this problem now.

Don't know how familiar with that ski and seadoo u r but I will start it up and the others will take over. First if u have grey fuel lines they must be changed. They clog the fuel selector the micro filters inside the carbs and maybe even the lines and carbs themselves. If they r grey do not start changing them until you find out what has caused your problem. If u make a mistake and install new lines incorrectly you will really be creating a puzzle. But they must be done before u go out for any length of time. If they were grey the fuel selector has to be removed and cleaned or replaced. And most will recommend cleaning the carbs at least checking the micro filters inside them. Don't get scared all this will help you in the future and it is time well spent.
Second before u tear everything up you can try opening the front grey box and disco the red wire on the rectifier/regulator. If the rectifier has gone it will spike the mpem computer and cause the ski to run erratic similar to your symptoms. Mark the connections going to the box on both sides male and female with some sort of colors(some use different color zip ties) so u don't go crazy every time you have to open that box. There r fuses in there that r known to blow. After u disco red wire it may run perfect but u will need to do the grey fuel lines ect ect.
I did not read all your posts and don't know what u have done so far but the people here will help become a premium member and download the shop manual and have fun.

Thanks for the advice I recently did take the grey temp fuel lines but couldn't get the fuel selector out to clean for some reason that middle screw won't come off , I sprayed wd-40 let it sit and still nothing so I just let it ride but I've been reading up on some threads and allot of people recommend cleaning/replacing the fuel selector so I'm thinking of maybe disconnecting the three lines connected to it and blowing compressed air into one of the valves to clear it out. Do you think that would work? I'm scared that I might brake the knob off if I keep trying the screw . Also I recently bought this jet ski and don't know much about it I know boats but jet skies are new to me . Any help I can get is highly appreciated. Will check out the rectifier when I go back out again and probably just clean the carbs just in case too , but the fuel selector thing bothers me a bit any suggestions on how can I clean it without having to take it off ?

One other possible thing it could be as I speak from personal experience. I let a buddy get my gas one day and he mixed in the 2stroke oil and made it a lil to oil heavy and fouled the plugs added new plugs and more fuel and it ran great.

Never did it that way but u can try. Was there green goo inside the fuel lines? If so the fuel selector has to be cleaned. There is a water separator also in the link. Take it off carefully there is a washer that is actually a box round washer if u look close. Don't lose it and make sure u do not crimp it putting it back. Clean that glass bowl out. If the washer is bad or u do not put it back correctly it will let air in system and ski will run erratic. So u should check all your fuel line connections they must be tight and not allow air in system.
I would rule out the rectifier first, remember if u disco it do not ride long cause the battery is not charging.
If you go into the grey box be careful with the gasket it is tricky putting it back but once you see
how it works and do it a few times it is easy
Keep working on the middle screw for fuel selector. Spray it good. Salt must have got it. Good luck

Sounds like it may just be really loaded up. It may be leaking some oil from the RV seals into the cylinders and that has to burn off. It happened to me last year at the beginning of the season with one ski. I had to change the plugs and get some heat into the motor. Then I even had to use the wind to help push me down the lake and take some load off the ski. It eventually cleared out and ran awesome the rest of the season. It could be the rectifier but it also just could be loaded up. Fresh plugs and double check the gap. These do not use the out of the box gap.

I been checking it out today and going through all the possibilities it seen that the fuel / water separator in the front was missing the o ring can this be the problem to my troubles , I also took the carbs out to clean it am going through them is I write this post

From what I've read, if it isn't sealed well, the separator can let air in to the fuel line. I'm sure others will chime in on that.

Just finished putting the carbs back together and honestly they weren't to dirty , the filters looked good and everything I also ordered the o ring and fuel filter even though the filter wasn't dirty just to have a spare , I will put the carbs back on and wait on the o ring to arrive so I can test it out on the water , I'm thinking is gonna be the rectifier and o ring . Won't know for sure till I test it

Ok if u have patience. But look into adding an in line fuel filter. See the threads on this, they tell u exactly what filter to buy and where to put it. That said if you disconnect the in and out to the separator and link them, that will bypass that filter seperator and you can test it. You take that out of the fuel system equation. You can do the same with the fuel selector but there are two ins and one out so u need to do some thinking on how to do it. Don't know if there is a thread on that,pm me if u decide to go that route but I believe u can figure it out, if I did.

OK, we need a sticky on tempo fuel lines with that as the poster child. "This is your tempo line... this is your tempo lines on ethanol..."
