I was out in my boat today and it was running great. I stopped for a minute to swim and got back on the boat and tried to start and it was turning over the first few times i tried to start it and then it started making a noise and it wouldnt turn over. It makes a weird noise likes its not getting any fire to it. The impeller sounds like it is turning and everything seems to be clear. The battery is faily new and the impeller is new. Help please!

What have you checked?

It's common for the carb needles to leak... and it will lightly food the engine, and make a hot re-start hard.

I havent checked much. I did look through the jet and impeller and everything looks clean and i also looked at the shaft and its not locked up. So, I have narrowed it down to the starter. Thats where the awful grinding like noise is coming from, the starter. Could that possibly be my problem? Thanks for helping me out!

Well... you didn't say anything about "Grinding" before.

Yes... pull the starter, and tell us what you see.

Sorry for the late response; Ive been extremely busy. I took the starter off and the bendix was pushed over to one side. So I ended up buying a new starter and installed it a few days ago and it starts right up now.

Thanks for the quick responses!
