Hello, I have a 97 sea doo GTX I had a new engine put in about 5 years ago and its been running fine until now. when the throttle is full open, It runs at only 35 mph top speed, it used to run 45-50+mph. I can also feel a vibration from the motor. I checked the empelar and it does'nt seem to be damaged. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

45-50ish, dont sound fast enough for that ski...check clearance between wear ring and impellor blade, no more than 1mm, also pull plugs and remove grey shield to expose PTO, turn that counterclockwise, make sure nuth'n grinding.
If wear ring is bad/impellor bad, check for bends/damages to blades as well, if so, while apart, roll driveshaft make sure not bent.

Info....

Not a lot of info to go by there, but let me throw some stuff in the mix for ya!....

When's the last time the RAVE's have been cleaned? This is a yearly maintenance task. If you've got carbon build up or a bad bellows, it'll cause the problem your having with performance.

In your post, you say only 35 mph. But you don't say what rpm's your getting. If your motor is hitting the 7k mark, then you may have a problem with your impeller. Your maximum allowable clearance is .040" at the middle of the blade.

Vibration? When you had the motor replaced 5 (long) years ago, did you get the pump rebuilt? If your pump end is running on the same set of bearings (11 year old bearings), has the pump oil been inspected and changed yearly as suggested in the maintenance section of the shop manual?

Your vibration can be from the pump or the balance shaft. Either way, it can develop into a major problem, terminal, if you don't find it.
