1997 GTI Engine cuts out after warmed up

I have a 97 GTI, it runs really well and hooks up nicely. Lately after idling out of no wake from the marina, it goes fine until it seems to warm up and then cuts out. The ski will restart immediately but keeps cutting out like pulling the dess key.

It really seems to be an electrical issue. Keep restarting and the more you try the worse it gets at turning off. If it sits for a bit, it easily restarts and and will accelerate but then off again.

I have been through the coil box in the back and cleaned all connections there and battery and made sure everything was tight.

What comes to mind is a coil issue. Would a bad coil have these symptoms?

When is the last time you overhauled the fuel system?

Has all new fuel lines, fuel valve and filter. I even loosened the gas cap thinking possible non venting.

I actually re read my post and my answer was there. "but keeps cutting out like pulling the dess key".

Junk aftermarket DESS key lost it's magnetism.

My 97 GTX has the original Seadoo DESS key and still has strong magnetism.
