1996 XP Lacks power

When you add the detergent to clean the deposits, it unloads them all into the fuel filter. You may have to change/backflush the filter a couple times. It sucks when you think you're doing a good thing but it jacks it all up. My son added fuel tank cleaner to his 95 sierra and it wouldn't run much above idle the next day. A new filter fixed it. Anyway, it sounds like you have some good replies already but this is my take on the whole thing. Joe.
