I recently read about the gas tank recall on these and got the recall done on both my 96 seadoo xp's at the dealer. Yesterday i dry started them just to make sure everything was ok after the replacements. I come out this morning about 12 hours after starting them both and notice a read glow coming from the dash. Key was not in, and the lights were still all lit up as if the key was in and i was going to start them. This wasnt a problem before the tank swap. Does this happen to go hand in hand with the tank change cuz it wasnt a problem before!. I was heading to work so i pulled the battery just to kill the power. Havent been home yet to see if that fixed it or not but am just curious if i need to yell at the dealer now.

Not to thread jack here, but I am having the same issue with one of my builds, just haven't had time to update the thread. I swapped out every electrical part possible (MPEM, rear e box and wiring) and the problem still existed, though it was intermittent at times, seemingly after the motor was turned over (by hand). The only thing I have left to check is the magneto since it's the only part I haven't touched. I'll keep you posted on my findings.

I am heading home now to check if unplugging the battery fix the problem. But I had been out last Saturday, no problem. I am heading home now to check if unplugging the battery fix the problem. But I had been out last Saturday, no problem.I started them Sunday to show a potential buyer that they ran, took took them to the dealership for the recall on Monday got them back onFriday, started them yesterday and noticed now one of them the upper two lights were still on this morn without any key...which Im assuming was on all night long.....so this problem started after the gas tank recall replacement

Update....seems like if I wiggle the gas/battery light etc gauge in the center...the lights will come off and on, key or no key...going to check for any loose connections....guessing either the gauge is going funky or the wires are loose...ski will not crank without key tho, so it's not an ignition problem...
