Hello all I have some questions about my 1996 Sea-Doo GTI
Should there be another little black wire going to the ground on the battery because I only have to one big positive and one being negative
Also another question is the other day I was driving it perfect for about 30 minutes it started to get dark so I went back and parked it two days later without touching any electronics I took it back out and was driving it for 15 minutes when all of a sudden it just shut off, it would not start and there was no power to anything like no dash lights nothing I’ve narrowed it down to it being the MPEM would you agree with that?

If it was 2 short beeps that's good, but if it is 1 long beep then there is a problem with the key, post or wiring. Other problem beep codes are described in the shop manual.

Also, the schematic for your model only shows the 1 large black ground wire going to the starter (no small secondary black ground wire).

If you just press the start button without the key on the post, do the gauges activate for 30 seconds? If not, check your battery voltage and see if the MPEM is getting power.

No they do not and the mpem keeps blowing the 5 amp fuse

It looks like there is a 4 wire connector that goes to the guages. You can try disconnecting that and see if the fuse still blows. If it doesn't then there is probably a short in one of the guages or the wiring to them. If it still blows with the guages disconnected then you probably need to send the MPEM out for testing. I think Westside Powersports does testing.
