Last weekend this thing ran like a champ, this weekend not so much. Typically I can get up to 52-55 on this. This weekend she ran fine for a while, but after jumping some wakes with a buddy of mine on the back, it started to bog down really bad around 6k or between 35-40, mostly when hitting wakes. It almost threw me off because I was going full throttle and it just bogged down for 2 secs, then ran up to 6k then bogged down again. Took it to the dock and noticed the tops of the spark plugs were loose, tightened them down and it helped out a little bit, but was still bogging down just not as bad. I had an extra set, changed them out and it ran fine for about 3 minutes then started doing it again. anyone have any idea?

I had almost the same issue last summer with my 96 gtx, but it did throw me over the front when it bogged while jumping waves. I found that I had the old gray fuel lines and ended up replacing my lines andr rebuilding the carb....the filter on the carb was gummed up with deteriorating fuel line.

If you have the old grey lines they need replaced and the carb should be rebuilt....this might not fix your problems but it will fix future problems and will eliminate the carb and fuel system from your troubleshooting.

Same here. Happened to me last season. Going along full throttle and it bogs out. Wakes you up real quick.

We replaced the fuel lines and the filter in the carb and it ran like a top.

I still do have the grey fuel lines, so i am going to go ahead and change those out and attempt to clean the carbs. Since I am doing that I might as well clea rave's and replace filters. I noticed there are a few filters on the gtx. Which ones should I be replacing and does anyone have reference numbers for auto parts store or do i need to order them directly from seadoo.

if the filter you refer'n to is the inline filter/water seperator..i'd leave it, and clean with carb cleaner, and if o-ring is trashed, replace it from Ace., along with the o-rings around the high/low speed adjusters and needle and seat assy o-ring. All found at Ace..

can i replace those o rings without messing with the adjustments?

is the big filter the filter/water seperator? anyone have reference numbers for the oil and gas filter?
