1996 GTI solenoid not getting power across

1996 GTI solenoid not getting power across. I have a new battery new starter and starter solenoid and still no crank, I only get click click from the startersolenoid even if I jump the starter solenoid it will not crank it was working just find . I will really appreciate any help.

Definitely sounds like a connection somewhere is loose or dirty. The one from the starter to ground can be a source of issues. Also, if the starter was rebuilt, I have had a couple that were grounding out internally and once that was corrected it worked great.

thanks, I will check every single connection this weekend and replace the ground from the starter I do not think that it is going to be my starter because I got a new one and still do the same click click no start.

I replaced the ground coming from the starter and did not do it I also checked all the wires from one end to the other and they all ok and my ski still not working I do not know what to check anymore I compered with the wiring on my 1995 GTX the parts are almost identical so I swap the starter solenoid and EPEM from my GTX to my GTI and still did not work put starter solenoid and EPEM from my GTI to GTX a started no problem.

Throw a voltmeter on the starter positive post and let us know what reading you have when trying to start.
I did and there is 0 volts no power going to the starter. I tried the starter from my other seadoo and the same thing I got no power on the other side of the solenoid going to the starter . on the side of the solenoid coming from the battery I get 12.7 volts the battery is good and I tried another battery too.

put a screw driver across the terminals on the solenoid to bypass it and see what happens

I did and the solenoid just makes a bussing noise but no crack from the starter but if I connect the positive wire from the starter directly to the battery the motor will crank.
