Trim the plug wires back 1/4'' like said before and reinstall plug boots. Then use an inline spark checker on both cylinders. Make sure to clean/dry/grease all electrical connections, espcially at the MPEM.

On the coil, replace the bottom screw that has all the lugs attached to it with a good stainless bolt and nut. Those mounts are really easy to strip the plastic out of and then you loose all the electrics since its the main ground in there.
You might want to get a seal for that rear box while your ordering parts.

Throw in some new plugs. On mine it ate a few plugs that shorted internally when I was first setting it up.

Would the oil just be from it splashing out of the cylinders while you were cranking it ? I noticed that there was allot of splash around there.

The engine was mis-firing when i returned to the docks. It did not backfire though

This is my TODO list
1, Soleniod Relay (ordered)
2, Clean/dry/grease elec connections (purchased grease last night)
3, Wear ring
4, Trim plug wires 1/4".
5, Replace Coil screw with a stainless steel bolt & nut.
6, New seal for rear box.
7, Buy a spark checker & test for spark in front cylinder
8, New Plugs (already purchased)
9, Check Compression
10, Put lines on engine bolts (check for movement).

Where is the MPEM located?

I'm not sure if the oil splash is from the cylinders. I going to give everything a good whip down and see if it returns.

Check if those screws are tight. Mark them with a sharpy so you can see if one rotates on you. I put lines on all the engine bolts. Its easy to see if something moves.

I knocked the following off my check list today

Cleaned and greased electrical connections.
Replaced Coil screws with stainless steel fasteners.
Ordered an in-line spark tester
Ordered new wear ring (SeaDoo 140mm Pump - 605SB100)
Installed New Plugs
Checked Compression (140 psi both cylinders)
Cleaned up the oil splash

I found an electrical box seal (Joint Etanche gasket P/N 278000440) on ebay for $15. Seems high, should I get it or attempt to make my own?

After cleaning up, I cranked it over and the ski fired right up on the second try and idled @ 2500 RPMs.

Thanks again everyone!

You won't get the seal by itself any cheaper from Minnetonka, but make a list of things you need and message him so you can combine shipping.

That is high for a gasket. Might be able to find a used e-box too, but even used parts are going up it seems like.

Mechanix has a good idea on the terminal stud. I think it's just threaded into a plastic post which is subject to loosen, not a very reliable strategy although I bet the bean counters just loved it.

Both holes blowing the same pressure, that's a relief.
