Hi Everybody,
It's been awhile. I just seem to go from one problem to
another. Now my 787 will not turn. I have two beeps and
a good and checked battery, all fuses are good and a new
starter. I tightened the ground to motor, still just one
clank and starter does not turn. I do have a starter relay
I can try. Please give me your expert opinion.
Thanks again,
LindaP

I haven't done much with boats, but from my car repair knowledge, your starter solenoid is kicking just fine, but the starter motor isn't running.

On my truck (had a similar issue) the relay is part of the solenoid, but it sounds like your relay might be bad, or the power feed from the relay to the starter *motor* isn't making a good connection. Two different cables run these, small gauge (#12/#14) is for the solenoid, large gauge (like #2 or so) feeds the motor.

You can try feeding direct from the battery to the starter motor, but be SURE there isn't too much fuel fumes in there... If it isn't too much trouble, pull the starter again and test it on the bench.
