This came over from the PWC forum. You need to pull the pump to figure it out. Get a shop manual and start digging. Bonmotwang just pulled his, so he will be helpful.

We have a "policeman" now :-D
Do you have a tracking tool?

Thanks and Bonmotwang what is your opinion about my piece of art here :)

It is very easy to take off the pump to do a basic inspection. Or go deeper from there if you want to or have to.
This forum has a very good bill of material for your model. From that drawing you can have some ideas about the construction.
To get off the pump you only need to unscrew about 10 screws/nuts and no little parts involved.

Ok took the pump out and wear ring looks ok, can't slide a dime from the gap and looks new but there is no oil in the pump

So the plastic cone is off?
And when you turn the impeller by hand, can you reproduce the grinding noise?

Can I crank the engine while the pump out and the shaft still connected to listen if the grinding still there?

No. The shaft will have no support at the end. But you can turn over the fly wheel by hand to feel the grinding. remove the spark plugs first, otherwise it won't turn over because of the compression.

Mine was not that loose. But I cannot tell how much mighty force you were using in the video. :-)

Just back to the grinding sound. I hope you can reproduce the noise on the pump you just took off.
When you turn the impeller by hand you cannot feel anything grinding at all? how about push the pump shaft from the cone side and turn the impeller?
