Howdy folks,
I'm about 6'4" tall and planning to drive about 2 hours away this weekend to look at a '96 challenger with a blown engine. Before I commit to a 4 hour round trip, can anyone help me understand how much leg room there is at the helm? Of course, I'll sit in it before I buy it, but if it is pretty much a sure thing that I won't fit, then I'd rather NOT spend 4 hours in the car and burn a tank of gas.
Thanks in advance.
Jeff

There's plenty of room. It's not like you have foot pedals to operate. I'm 6'1", and 240 Lbs... and I never once thought that my Sportster was tight. (more or less the same hull)

Besides... the little boats are to have fun in... and not take a long cruise.

Thanks, Tony.
I've got another boat for cruising.
I guess now I have to keep my fingers crossed that no one else buys the Challenger it before I can look at it Sunday. :)

Im around 6'1'' also but found my 2001 Sportster tight. Was one of the reasons we upgraded to the Challenger 1800. If you dont plan to cruise many hours and just want to jump waves you will be fine. Otherwise you may find it cramped if you have long legs like me:lol:

I apologize for not getting you a picture. My friend had to work all weekend and couldn't make it over.

No worries :) I got the info I needed. Hoping the guy is home for me to go look at the Challenger tomorrow.

As long as there is not a stereo mounted and taking up knee space, you should be ok.

Good luck on your possible purchase, I have one and they are fun, definitely a play boat and not a cruiser. The seating and positioning are only comfortable for so long.
