1995 XP Gauge Question

Greetings to all, I picked up another 1995 XP 717 for a fall/winter project. Everything seems to be in order. But this stood out to me.


The ski has a speedometer and a multifunction gauge mounted infront of the seat. I was under the impression it wasn't until 96 that the XP got a speedometer and a multifunction gauge infront of the seat. Is this a late production model? Aftermarket?

Any ideas or knowledge is apreciated Thanks-Creeker Mike

Somebody had to have added the speedometer and relocated the info gauge.

Did they add the speedo sensor to the back at the bottom of the hull?

Yes they did. Through hull seal appeared to have been done very well.

It's cool someone went through the trouble, but in my opinion the speedometers from that time are pretty inaccurate and not all that useful.

Might as well keep it in there if it's already done though

Agreed, I prefer a GPS number over the dream meter. Ill take a look at the wiring and make sure its not a hack job. Interesting they swapped the speedo into the vts gauge slot as well. Not sure why they did that as oposed to putting it center where the multifunction was.
