Hi there, i bought a 1995 seadoo xp last season, and it lacked power, had to play with choke to go faster . So a buddy told me to clean the carbs, which i did, the fuel filter was blocked pretty good, so i soaked em in carb cleaner, it starts first turn, but tonight the exhaust was extremely white, and it was speqing black oil??? what would cause this, i wanted to go seadooing this may 24.
Thnx
Ben

When you cleaned the carbs, you disassembled them and than soaked the parts...are the small filters inside the carbs clean too? What is the compression of the engine? This is vital to know what condition the engine is in. What did you do to winterize it from last season? Get me this information and we'll see what we can do to figure out the problem.

I havent checked the compression, it ran fine today, wasnt nearly as smokey, but it still kinda squirted oil out of exhaust, and it was dripping out, it was black oil, i changed the oil about 2 months ago, prepping, and i put in seadoo synthetic goldish coloured, i dont understand why it is black, i had black oil in it last season, would it be oil settled to bottom while it sat, i never winterized it, it sat in my garage while i worked on it, which is heated. Also i cleaned all the filters and my seadoo is oil injected, it runs fine to me, idles a little low, starts quick aswell.
thnx

the inner crank seals seep a little. they had all winter to seep a little. first start-up of the spring can be a smokey time. i have a speedster that fogs quite a bit first start of every weekend. it will blow out in 5 or 10 minutes.
