Hey everyone, I picked up a 1995 Sea-Doo XP that used to be an old race ski. It has tons of aftermarket parts on It that are all fairly common except it has a high compression head and aftermarket cylinder jugs stamped with “VE” on them I’m wondering if anybody has any information on these?
Thanks !

Don’t know much about VE except that it is rare and good stuff.
VE 920 and 970 are the 2 sizes I’ve heard of with single or double plugs per head.

Also looks like a Factory Pipe.
If you are going to run it make sure you have all the pipe mounts secure and I would make a carb to cylinder head brace too.

Yes it is! luckily came with the micro touch and water injection, and I definitely will be I’ve heard they can crack right off

The 95 XP uses the X4, a very good handling racer. The first year of the 787 was introduced in the XP Limited, 110 hp. It appears you got the 717, 80 hp.

I’m not a huge fan of buying used race engines, because of engine life. Any of these could last close to 20 years. Just like a race car, the added wear from torque and heat, shorten engine life.

If I bought it, compression test, make sure water runs freely at the TLCS connection; riding shallow fills with sand and oil injection in good working condition!

Then, go play! Happy jetting!
