I just got a '95 Seadoo SPI,. I'm new to the whole PWC thing, but rode ATV's and snowmobiles forever. When I first got the ski, the gas gauge didn't work and oil light stayed on during riding. I took out the fuel tank and the float moved freely, but it just doesn't register on the gauge. I have been running it for a couple weeks and oil runs through fine, I just watch the level. Do I need a new sensor? I have unplugged everything and plugged back in. Light still on. Second, the ski has a new battery and recently not wanting to start sometimes. Sometimes it will turn right over, and sometimes I hit the start button and get one click, and that it. If I keep hitting the start button, eventually the ski turns over and runs fine. I pulled out all the switches and looked at them and traced every wire and loosen them up and tightened back down, and still the same problem. I'm thinking I might have to replace the lanyard kill button, but then again. I hold that button down with my thumb, and press the start button, I either get a fire, or just one click from the starter area. If I still hold the lanyard button down and continuously press the start button and then I will get the motor turned over. Battery is fully charged. I'll be sitting in the middle of the river and be screwing with this problem and get it started and keep playing. Motor runs strong and never dies, until I crash and you get the picture. Can anyone help me with the gas/oil/starting problems? Thanks, Brandon :ack: :reddevil:

Click and guage issues

Ok for starters I had the same problem with the 1 click and it turned out in my case to be a bad solenoid I replaced it and problem went away. Second on the fuel guage. There are several posts on repairing and troublshooting the fuel sensor it looks like 2 common issues either the magnet or float go bad or a fuse blows in the unit which requires a little customization.

New solenoid did the trick!

I called a local shop and they surprisingly had 2 starter relays (solenoid) in stock. $40 wasn't a bad price either, considering I didn't think I would be able to play this holiday weekend. The oil senor is a backorder part for $80. Seadoo is clearing alot of older parts. So I suggest stocking up on NOS parts or getting as much good/used parts as possible. Thanks for you help Freddy!
